Removing Acrylic Nails

Removing acrylic nails is a very simple process. There is no need to purchase an expensive acrylic nail remover. In fact the best acrylic nail remover is inexpensive acetone. Acetone is a chemical which thins out acrylic and makes it easy to remove your acrylic nails.

Process for removal of acrylic nails:

1. Fill a bowl with acetone
Fill a glass bowl with enough acetone to cover your fingertips.

2. Soak fingertips
Soak fingertips for approximately 15 minutes or longer if required.

3. Remove acrylic
Use a metal pusher or a new orangewood stick and gently push off softened acrylic nails. Repeat until all of the acrylic has been removed. Take care not to pull off acrylic with nippers. Using excessive force will result in damage to the natural nail plate.

4. Buff Nails
Gently buff the the natural nail with a fine buffer to remove the acrylic residue.

5. Condition Cuticle
Condition the cuticle and surrounding skin with a cuticle oil or a moisturizing hand lotion.

Don't be mislead into purchase of unnecessary acrylic nail remover products. Acetone is very inexpensive and is the product used by the majority of nail technicians for removing acrylic nails.
