Yellow Nails

No one wants yellow looking nails or artificial nails that lift off after wearing them for a short time.

You can get yellow nails when nail products that are used on your artificial nail begin to break down. This can be the cause of using cheaper products and materials. Another way to ensure that your nails do not turn yellow is to use a base coat before applying color polish.

To avoid yellow nails talk with your nail technician about your concerns, she should be able to suggest quality products that will not break down and turn yellow.

Yellow nails can also look that way from infection, be sure that all instruments are sterile and that throw away products are thrown away and not used on anyone else.

If you do your own nails, be sure to avoid yellow nails by cleaning your instruments and keep the area clean where you do your nails. Do not smoke around the area. Smoking can cause the nails to turn yellow.

Yellow nails will not be a problem if you let your nail technician know that most causes of yellowing are from inadequate products or unsatisfactory application of the products used to apply your artificial nails. Let her know that you would prefer to pay a little more for better quality products than go around with discolored nails.

Yellow nails can also be avoided if you check out your nail salon and be sure they use quality products. Before choosing a nail salon and technician, watch how the salon is operated. Are the workstations clean and free from debris? Do they use quality products? Do they charge less than other salons because they are in fact using inferior products?

Infection is a cause of yellow nails and you want the area clean, be sure that the technician is throwing away any disposable products as soon as it is used on a client. Instruments should also be sterilized before use on their next customer. Nail infections can in fact be passed from one person to another through dirty equipment.

When you do your own nails, ask your nail technician which products to use to avoid yellow nails from happening. Your local nail salon should be able to answer your questions concerning yellow nails and which products are quality. If they do not know then I think it is time to find a new salon or nail technician that really know the products they intend to use on your nails.
